Not too harsh, I hope?

Before anything, I'd like to point out that this post can be a little offensive to some, but please, read it with open hearts. I meant no harm, or offense by typing this out. I just feel the need to do so because as Muslims, we do need to help each other by pointing out things that we can point out in order to improve ourselves.

These few points were taken from a fellow blogger(which I think you should really go and have a read). I thought the points he used were rather true but I didn't exactly think the way he had put the words together was very kind. I hope I could put it in a nicer way so maybe you could consider the points?

These are.. well, some excuses I myself have heard first hand from some acquaintance and friends regarding covering and hijaab. We all know as Muslims that covering your beauty from non-mahram is compulsory but only some of us truly understand why, and even do it.
Here, I'd like to point out that I'm not saying because I do it, I'm any better than you. I'm just saying that Allah has made it a rule for us girls to cover.. just so we're clear. Because obviously, only Allah can judge the worthiness of one as a Muslim. But it is very much compulsory for girls to cover!

Anywho, let's start.

1. "Are all those girls who covers guaranteed Heaven?"
  • No. In fact, no one is guaranteed. No matter how good you are, only Allah can decide if you're worthy of his Paradise. But if you don't do something that has been made a rule, do you, yourself think you're worthy to even have a peep of it?
2. "Some girls who covers aren't that good either. They still gossip and backbite others."
  • That's true. But why should you compare yourself to a lower class? You know backbiting is sinful, you know covering is a must, then be the better person. And InshaAllah, you would be put among the people that Allah loves because that's what we're aiming for in this life.
3.  "You really shouldn't try to advise me. You were not so good yourself."
  • Everyone has a chance to repent, to be a better person, to improve. That includes you. What's past is past. Let it only be the reminder of what you're not and don't want to be. Plus, if you think only the really pious ones who has never made a mistake can admonish others, when will the message be passed across? Good advise, coming from either a good or not so good of a person, is still a good advise you should consider.
4. "Even if I don't cover, I'm still a good person. I pray and fast."
  • But it still doesn't change the fact that covering is compulsory for you. You know the consequences of the ones who don't cover, it's Hell-fire and it didn't sound too good when Prophet Muhammad saw it. Head hanging down with fire boiling it? Who would want that? And besides, only Allah can judge the worthiness of a Muslim. Not you, not me, not anyone else but Him so how are you sure that your actions are enough to please Him and to make you worthy of his Paradise? The best thing to do is to follow the simple rules Allah has made and leave the ones He forbids. You really don't need to complicate your life. Islam is simple and easy and truly beautiful.
5. "It's my life, what I wear and do is between me and God. It's my right and you can't say anything about it."
  • Like I said in my previous post, being Muslims, we need to remind each other. You can't expect Allah to give you a miracle and send an angel to tell you what you're doing is right or wrong, can you? We have each other, the Quran, the sunnah, and hadiths to remind and teach us. If I don't tell you what you're doing is wrong and I know it, then it would be counted as a bad deed for me. I would get the sin as well as you.
6. "I'm not ready to cover. It's a drastic change."  "I'll cover when I'm older and more mature."
  • You're never going to be ready if you don't want to be ready. Allah, your creator, should not have to wait for you. You should always want to please Him. You don't know how much time you have in this life and so, always be prepared.
  • How old is old enough for you? How mature is mature enough? The rule is to cover once you reach puberty and even before that, to have a hang of it. Death won't wait for you till you're ready so ready yourself before it.
7. "I wear long sleeves when I'm wearing shorts and I only wear tank tops with long trousers."
  • And so you think it's balanced out...? But the rule in Islam clearly says you can't show your hair, you can't reveal your body parts. Why are you trying to bend the rules? Why are you trying to modify the rules to suit your own lifestyle? You should modify your lifestyle to suit the rules. You should bend your cultures and trends for Allah's rules!

So that sums up what excuses I've heard before. I truly hope this has inspired you at least a little bit, if not a lot. Thanks for reading! :D
